General
What kind of work do you focus on?
I photograph places, people, and the relationships that form between living beings and their environments. Most of my work sits within documentary, conservation, and environmental storytelling.
Do you also take on commercial or event work?
Pedreda.com is dedicated to documentary and conservation work.
For commercial or event photography I work separately through PortoPhoto.com. If you’re unsure where your project fits, feel free to contact me and I can guide you.
Working Together
How do we begin a project?
You can reach out through the contact page, or send me an email, text, or call.
A short description of your organisation, the location, timelines, and any relevant context (animals, field teams, environmental conditions) helps me understand the scope.
Do you work internationally?
Yes. I’m based in Porto and available for assignments and fieldwork worldwide.
Can you work with scientific teams or conservation groups?
Yes. I have experience working alongside curators, field teams, and rehabilitation or conservation staff. I take direction from the scientific or operational lead on-site and adjust to existing workflows. I keep my presence quiet and unobtrusive.
Fieldwork & Ethics
Do you follow a specific ethical approach when photographing animals or sensitive environments?
Yes. I work at the pace of the environment and follow the guidance of the field team, curator, biologist, or other scientific authority present. I keep distance when appropriate, avoid altering behavior, and never stage moments. My role is to observe, record, and respect the work happening around me.
Are you comfortable working in field conditions or remote locations?
Yes. I can work with a minimal or flexible gear setup when needed, and I adapt to light, weather, movement, and other environmental constraints. Each assignment determines what the approach should be.
Technical & Delivery
Do you deliver both photographs and short video clips?
Photography is my primary focus, but I can provide short supporting video clips when useful for documentation or communication. The balance between stills and video is shaped by the needs of the project.
How are images delivered?
Digitally, through an organised online gallery or a clean download system.
This is the default, but delivery formats, timelines, and file structures can be tailored to the needs of your team or organisation.
Do you offer licensing for editorial or institutional use?
Yes. Licensing is handled case by case, based on the type of organisation, scope of use, and the specific requirements of the project. If you have questions around rights or usage, feel free to contact me.
Other
Do you collaborate with artists, researchers, or institutions?
Yes. If the work aligns with documentary, environmental, conservation themes, or anything I’m interested in exploring, I’m always open to collaboration or hearing about potential projects.
Do you teach workshops or mentorships?
None are scheduled nor vacancies open at the moment. If you have something in mind, feel free to reach out.
Can I request prints of your work?
Yes. Selected prints are available on request. Additonal prints are also available at ColectivoBesta.com, their physical store, and at PortoPhoto.com
